Connecting to an Azure Database KB-301

System

There are three ways to configure P2 for the purpose of accessing data or for testing and training:

Sandbox

** Hosting Charge: T1 $150 per month, T2 $350 per month, T3 $500 per month

An independent set of databases and websites that will only be updated or refreshed at the food banks request. (Please allow 48 hours for the database copy and website update.)

The sandbox setup includes two users but there are no subscription fees for the users. The only charge will be for hosing.

Can be used in conjunction with the API or connecting a third part product such as Tableau. If using a third party connection, one of the two logins can be used at no extra charge.

Using the API to pull data

An additional seat is needed in P2 to use for API authentication.

In order to access API endpoints, the user created to use the API needs to have an access role that contains that endpoint. For example, if the agency endpoint is going to be called, agency view must be in the access role.

The data that is returned is in the JSON format.

API documentation can be found with the following two links:

If data is bing pulled from the food banks LIVE database, it is expeded that this will be done after business hours.

Using a third party product (Tableau, Power BI) to access data

** Hosting Charge: T1 $100 per month, T2 $250 per month, T3 $400 per month

The user will be connecting to the mirrored copy of the database which means it will be automatically updated from the LIVE database by Azure.
