System Logs

BEST PRACTICE: We recommend restricting the access to System Logs to the system administrator, IT staff or management leadership.

Types of Logs

The System Logs page provides you access to four types of logs used in P2:

  • Audit Log: Displays what process were used, the Entity Name which designates the information table or process associated with the error, the Entity ID which is only used by P2 programming staff to help identify the specific record, the date/time of the occurrence and the user associated with that change/entry.
  • Error Log: Records anytime a system error occurs. The Error Log displays the user, date/time, the request method or action being taken, the page information and the error message or issue generated. The Error Log is designed to help P2 programming staff and development staff and to help you determine how the error occurred.
  • Authentication Log: Tracks login information including the date/time, application being accessed, user name, the user's IP address and if the login was successful.
  • Application Master Log: Displays information on log purges and major system processes that impact the functionality of the system. The Application Master Log can never be purged.

View a Log Record

To view a record, click View and the audit log details opens. The details display any changes that were made to the system. If you need to report an error to ECCA it is often helpful to screenshot the audit log details and submit the screenshot with the issues to ECCA.
