Miscellaneous Charges

These are set up in the SYSTEM ELEMENT SETUP, Misc. Charge. When creating a misc. charge you must give it a name and description as well as a GL account number then determine the calculation method for this.

Fixed will be a specific amount. If you leave it at 0 you can add the rate and quantity on the order.

Percentage will calculate a percentage of the order.

Weight will calculate based on the total weight of the order times whatever rate you put in (if you leave it at 0 you can set the rate on the order).

The Rate can be left at 0 if you're going to base it on weight or percentage, the system will calculate it at the time of the order.  An example of a fixed rate could be your annual membership/dues, if you charge all of your agencies $50.00 a year then you'd create a fixed rate of 50.

If you set a misc. charge through the agency's hamburger the system will automatically add that misc. charge every time the agency places an order (vs. manually adding a misc. charge on the order itself). For example, if you charge the agency a handling fee of .05 for every order you can set that misc. charge up through the agency hamburger-misc. charge and you won't have to remember to charge them every time an order is placed.
